  ha cooks station ....went to hams but there main generator is down so we went to cooks ....cooks staqtion one of the original stage coach stops coming over the sierra nevadas

  Interesting history, average diner food and service. Cook's opened in 1863 and was part of the Pony Express- the full history of this place is listed in the menu, actually kind of fascinating. I ordered a burger and garlic fries and waited for ~20 minutes (good thing I had the menu to read!). The burger was greasy and the garlic fries had way too much garlic, in large chunks. Probably wouldn't stop here again.

  One of only 2 to 3 places to stop on the highway, quality food, good prices, friendly staff, and a warm respite from the cold.. a Bar as well !
